I foremost think of Brian Bonsall as Andrew Keaton on Family Ties. Bonsall has earned my respect. But for a while there, I expected to have to make a post about his death. Hopefully he's steered into the curve.

I think Jake Lloyd dies this year though.

I was gonna say I'll steal his emmys but he never won one, which-- jesus christ. We never gave Mahoney an Emmy? That's unacceptable.

They should just name that award after David Hyde Pierce.

EDIT: Jesus, though nominated multiple times, neither Mahoney nor Pierce won a Golden Globe for Frasier.

That's nothing. Jason Alexander, portraying the greatest sitcom character of all time, never won an Emmy.

The Hollywood Foreign Press votes on the Golden Globes, so the Frasier guys never winning wouldn't be our mistake.

Again, I get why the Golden Globes are a big deal, and I get that they're fun, but they probably shouldn't be a big deal.

In my estimation, the American awards for video media rank:

1. Academy Awards
2. Peabodys
3. Golden Globes
4. Emmys
5. SAGs

I know a lot of Christians (too many, if you ask me) and they're all mourning Graham's passsing.  I was never a big fan.  He was a liar and charlatan in my opinion and I'm certain that he had no real impact on my life at all. If I were a Christian, maybe I'd appreciate the fact that he brought so many souls to Jesus (that's REALLY important to Christians), but that just gives me more reason not to like him.

Two things that bugged me most about him are:

1. His anti-semitism.
2. His attitude toward the civil rights movement (early on).  He didn't think that civil rights leaders should look to the government to help ensure their equality, Graham suggested that they wait because true equality wouldn't be achieved until Jesus' return.  Easy for him to say that...being white and on the plus-side of the imbalance.  If they'd followed his advice, we'd still be waiting for our rights.

I'm kinda glad he's dead, actually and I don't say that about a lot of people.

Major Winchester was easily my favorite character on MASH and one of my favorite characters on any size screen. The series handled it well with an excellent episode where David Ogden Stiers guest starred -- I think its safe to say that Frasier isn't a show without Major Winchester first existing.

He did fine character acting later on in Better Off Dead, Doc Hollywood, and in Star Trek: The Next Generation with that Logan's Run-like episode. Unfortunately, that was a Lwaxana Troi episode, but probably the best one she starred in.

Anyway, this one hurts. I really liked that guy.
