Be The Cowboy by Mitski is so god damn good. Like a nearly perfect half hour of indie rock.

She gives me strong PJ Harvey vibes, so if you're a fan of her (and if you aren't, kindly DIAF) you should check out this album. It's the only one of hers I've heard but her last one, Puberty 2, got great reviews too.

The songs on Be The Cowboy are really and it takes a few listens to get used to it because it feels like just when an idea is about to take off, the song ends. Once you give each song the attention it deserves, you realize there's so much going on-- she skips between straight up rock to disco vibes and more, and each track is like an extremely polished anecdote. You have to listen a few times before it all clicks. There's enough there at the start to keep it engaging-- she's got a great sense of humor and the melodies stick in your head. This is a really great album.

Should have called that song "Osman"! LOLOLOL! Well, not really. We've all been lonely and likely will be again.

I started this album and didn't finish it. I mostly liked what I heard, but it didn't blow me away. It will probably take some time to click.

I should also add that I had the exact same feeling with Snail Mail's newest album. It's a heavily praised album so I should like it more and I probably will the more I listen to it, but for now 'meh'. It's always like this with me and well reviewed indie white people music. I remember once I even hated Radiohead, I mean fucking Radiohead!

K, I've had enough. I want Osman's posts deleted.

And there was a stunning album released by Dominique Fils-Aime’, called “Nameless”.

A trio of ex-pat multi-instrumentalists in Hong Kong released this warped/trippy/cool party album. “Fear and Celebration”, by Blood, Wine or Honey.

My album of the year so far is Kids See Ghosts btw. I haven't heard that much music though.

The ep made me spontaneously grow dark sunglasses out of my skull and face. They cannot be removed, except perhaps by surgery.

Regurgitator, one of the best Australian bands, released a pretty gud album that is spoiled by a handful of forgettable tracks. This is one of the good ones:

I had it on while biking / walking, so sort of in the background and it took a few listens to get into it myself. I think it's because they're short and dense songs, so you gotta live with them for a while before they click.

Did anyone besides Det listen to Mac Miller? He was really terrible when he first got popular but had developed into a consistently good, even great, artist over the past five years or so. Swimming was particularly good. I wish Ariana Grande hadn't killed him.

Also, Kanye tweeted yesterday that Watch the Throne 2 is "coming soon", but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah, I liked him! I haven't heard Swimming but I heard it was his best. He was getting better and more interesting lyrically as he got older and it's really sad we won't see where he'll go.

I'm limited to trash sweeper. I'd let the odd post go, or where he sort of engages, but he can't stop himself spamming. Added bonus is briggm always says "leave him alone" when I delete.

Why would we ever let Osman post here? Everything he posts has one purpose: to derail whatever else is happening. If he occasionally seems interested in being part of our community it's incidental, or a ruse, or just a byproduct of his overwhelming loneliness. He's only here to make this place worse. The only other person I can think of that deserves a ban-on-sight, Kelly, at least has periods where he seems interested in participating in discussions like an actual human being would.

I have a question: is there, like, a forumchitchat support team? Like if we emailed them and explained none of our current members have mod powers could they change that? Like... who's footing the bill for this again? I'd imagine they would have to do that. I'd volunteer to mod and I'd limit it to just keeping Osman and spam away, and maybe other old trolls if, and only if, they consistently show they're just here to be a dick.

I can delete posts and threads, that's it. I can't remember who else can. Kate must have thought I'd go mental with power ( I so would ) so clipped my wings.

I don't think Watch the Throne 2 would be Ye and Jay, it'll probably be Kanye with some upcoming rapper. It's going to be dope though, Kanye always delivers. I mean 2 out of 5 of the albums he made this year weren't very good but you can't hold that against him. Making 3 good to great records in one year is still a hell of a feat.

Which 3 were good to great? Pusha T's album was easily the best of the bunch, IMO. I was cold on Ye initially, but it's grown on me, though I still think it's his worst album. I also enjoyed Kids See Ghosts, but haven't really listened to it since it came out. The Nas album was pretty trash. I didn't hear the Teyana Taylor album, but have mostly read good things, though it sounds like they botched the release.

You pretty much got it, Daytona, Ye and Kids see Ghosts were all good albums. Although I think Kids See Ghosts was the best of them. I should probably relisten to the Teyana album but I don't feel like it.

Holy shit, I didn't know who Noname was before I saw some rave reviews about her latest album Room 25 and it's great. She's a super talented rapper with a mordant sense of humor and the production is just luxurious. Instantly hooked.

LSD's "Thunderclouds" is about to become the biggest song in the world, and the music video is something else.

The song is featured on a commercial, and I initially confused Labrinth's voice for Steven Tyler's, and I wondered why on Earth I was enjoying an Aerosmith song.

Wait who doesn't at least enjoy "Dream On"?

Guys, I love this album. I get strong Lauryn Hill vibes from Noname, sorta lush rnb. This song also reminds me of the production on Late Registration, the strings are beautiful. You guys should check her out.

Well sure, "Dream On" is a classic song. Otherwise...I mean, I like "Dude Looks like a Lady" because it is the quintessential good shitty song that was Aerosmith of the 1980's and 1990's. If you want to argue "Love in an Elevator" then that's fine. Aerosmith was certainly distinctive having their own voice, but man it was largely unneeded goofy shit.

I'm gonna download and listen because Yeezus is one of my favorite albums of all time but Kanye is officially no longer great. Ye was lazy and like a third finished.

I find it odd that someone would know a song is great but still not like it. I'm not saying he was lying about not liking it, but just find it weird that he's wired that way.
