No, it looks like it really is gone. I wonder what happened. Someone is assassinating all the sites RTers gather at!

Yes. And it was fine the last time I checked, not all that long ago. I really do wonder what could have happened.

I didn't realize RT lost a bunch of posters from sub-communities splitting off on their own. Why was I stuck with the assholes?

Not much middle ground on that issue.  See last night's Daily Show for a good skit.

I think you're probably with me, in that both sides are wrong, and act in horrific ways.  That seems to be a very minority opinion, though.  Most seem to have their tribe, so to speak, on the issue.

I read that thread, because I saw your posts, and he scared me.  I assume he's a good guy in general, or whatever, but don't pretend he was being reasonable just because you know him.

Oh, I share your opinions on the issue.  It's horrific to see a person turn a blind eye when their side commits murder and advocates for to them continue running a ghetto.

I honestly may have missed any of his posts that were overly extreme.  Well, most positions I read on the issue are "overly extreme" to me no matter the side.  I didn't see Mr. Bazou calling for an out-and-out genocide of Gaza like I did his friends.  He was in the camp favoring the "humane" war of dropping leaflets, targeted airstrikes, blah blah bullshit.  Sadly, that's the most common defense of Israel's supporters.

Though Tulsa has a surprising large Jewish population for a Midwestern city, I don't know any with whom I will discuss the occasional political issue.  Most people I know here in Tulsa who defend Israel are the end-of-time Christians.  Seemingly, Mr. Bazou's thread's Jewish opinions had less to do with religion and are more tribalistic as Bigwig pointed out.

I don't support Hamas, but in the current conflict there are, last time I checked, 2 Israeli citizens dead compared to hundreds of Palestinians and the UN is saying that fully 70% of the people Israel is killing are unarmed civilians. Hamas isn't "right" but when I engage in public  protest, it's against Israel.

I'm not much into scoreboards when it comes to such things.  Should the Jews be in Hamas' place, I'm fairly certain the casualties would be reversed.  And besides, I'm not surprised a state has a higher kill total, since states have been and always will be the biggest murderers in the world.  Now is the part where you call me nuts are something.

One side has all the guns.  And neither side has any measurable empathy.  Since you're the one scoreboarding the death toll, I thought I'd take the time to point this relevant fact out, cockfaggot.

The mistake here that you're lumping in all of the Palestinians in with Hamas, outright ignoring the internal dynamics of the PLO and other organizations trying to get power away from Hamas, as well as civilians that are outraged at both Hamas and Israel. The only reason Hamas is in power is because Israel's long history of outright undermining any attempts at making Palestine a stable, prosperous state, as I laid out in my post in Hart's thread.

I'm not doing that anymore than lumping all Israeli citizens and/or Jews in with the Israeli government.

I saw that article, I think on Gawker, and it wasn't quite that extreme - the person who compiled them was taking tweets that Israeli teens had posted and juxtaposing them with their Twitter avatars, which were often beach/bikini selfies.  Still kind of horrifying - the fact that what looked like otherwise normal empty-headed teenagers had such aggressive, virulent opinions on a particular topic (and that that topic was fucking GENOCIDE) - but not quite as extreme as how the article initially made it seem, the idea that the teens themselves were posting selfies with such ideas directly attached.

Good catch.  I might have caught it myself, but I try to read as little as possible when on Gawker since I'm embarrassed that I go there in the first place.
